How to See Who Someone Recently Followed on X

X shows who a public account follows now, but it does not provide a reliable public timeline of when each follow happened. To identify recent changes, compare following-list snapshots or use a service that records the latest data available.

The short answer

You cannot reliably read an exact recent-follow history from X alone. A current list answers who the account follows now; comparing two snapshots answers what changed between those checks.

Three practical methods

Choose based on the answer you need

Method 1

Inspect the current X list

Open a public profile and view its Following tab. This confirms who the account follows now, but it does not provide reliable dates or a dependable newest-first history.

Useful for a quick check

Method 2

Compare saved snapshots

Save the public following list at two different times and compare the usernames. Accounts present only in the newer snapshot are newly observed follows.

Most transparent method

Method 3

Use Recently Followed

Enter a public username and review the latest following and follower data available. A free Recently Followed account is required; no X login is needed.

Fastest workflow

Using Recently Followed

From username to recent data

The target must be a public X account. Your Recently Followed login is used to manage free daily searches; it is not an X login.

  1. 1

    Open the Recently Followed tracker.

  2. 2

Enter the username of a public X account.

  3. 3

Sign in with a free Recently Followed account. No X login is required.

  4. 4

Review the latest following and follower data available.

What the data can tell you

It can show the latest followers and following available to the service and help reveal differences between checks.

Important limitations

  • Private-account following data is not available.
  • X does not expose reliable public follow timestamps.
  • Results may change as public account data changes.
  • Free daily searches are subject to a usage allowance.

Questions people ask

Recent following FAQ

Does X show who someone followed most recently?

X shows a current Following list, but it does not provide reliable public follow timestamps or a dependable chronological history for another account.

Can I see the exact time an account was followed?

Usually not. Treat any ordered list as the latest data available, not as proof of an exact follow time unless a service recorded the change when it happened.

Can I check a private X account?

No. These methods rely on information available from public X accounts.

Will the target account know I checked?

No. Reading publicly available following data does not notify the target account.

Do I need an X login?

No X login is required. To run a search in Recently Followed, sign in with a free Recently Followed account.
